Do Not Use Detergents
Over time, your banner is bound to get dirty. Mud, dirt, grass, and many other liquids are bound to end up on your sign. Don’t rush to the kitchen and grab your ordinary cleaning compounds, however.
Detergents, bleaches, and other harsh chemicals should generally not be used on these banners. This will cause fading over time, which would certainly be unattractive. Instead of using harsh chemicals, use water. The construction of these banners will generally make it fairly easy to remove any stains that might end up on your banner.
Don’t Use Harsh Scrubbers
Once your signage has become stained, you might feel the need to grab an abrasive material to rub on it. While this may help to remove the stain, it’s also likely to take some other things with it. This too will cause permanent damage to the vinyl and will remove the colour in the words and images that are printed on the banner.
Instead of using a harsh scrubber, grab a damp cloth. At most, you might use some mild soap. Mild soaps are generally okay to use. Just make sure that you rinse the banner completely to be sure that all of this soap is removed.
Proper Storage
When not in use, make sure to store your banner in a dry place, protected from the elements. This will keep it from becoming warped due to moisture. This will ensure that you’re able to get plenty of use out of your banner.
